Switching from your current cleaner

Missed cleans, rotating faces and invoices you have to chase — if your current contractor has stopped earning the contract, switching is easier than you think. We handle the notice period, TUPE and the handover.

The four things that put people off switching — and how we handle them

Most businesses stay with an underperforming cleaner a year longer than they should. Usually because of one of these.

Notice periods

Most cleaning contracts need 30 to 90 days' notice. Tell us your renewal date and we plan the handover around it, so you never pay two contractors or lapse into an expensive rolling term.

TUPE and your current team

If cleaners are dedicated to your site, TUPE may apply when the contract changes hands. We handle the process properly — consultation, transfer of employment terms, and a fair start for any staff who move across.

No gap in cleaning

Your Nuclean team is mobilised before the old contract ends. Equipment, consumables, keys and alarm codes are all in place for day one, so the building never goes uncleaned.

A clean break, done properly

We give you a simple checklist for ending your current contract: what to put in writing, what to check in the small print, and what to hand over. You stay in control throughout.

How the switch works

01

Tell us your renewal date

A short call or the survey form. We work backwards from your notice period so nothing is rushed.

02

Free site survey and fixed quote

We walk the site, agree a written specification, and send a fixed written quote within 48 hours — with time to spare before you need to give notice.

03

We mobilise before day one

Team recruited or transferred, equipment ordered, keys and access documented, supervisor assigned. Your first clean happens on schedule, not whenever the new team gets around to it.

Switching questions, answered

How much notice do I need to give my current cleaner?
It depends on your contract — typically 30 to 90 days, and some contracts auto-renew if you miss the window. Check your agreement, and if you are unsure, send it to us and we will help you read it.
What is TUPE and does it affect me?
TUPE protects employees when a service contract changes provider. If your current cleaners are assigned to your building, they may have the right to transfer to the new contractor on their existing terms. We manage this routinely and will tell you at survey stage whether it applies.
Can you start before our old contract ends?
Yes. We can mobilise in parallel — recruiting, ordering consumables and completing site inductions — so your first Nuclean clean is the day after the old contract ends, with no gap.
Will switching cost us anything?
The survey and quote are free, and there is no setup fee on a standard 12-month contract. The only cost to watch is your current contract's notice terms, which is why timing the switch matters.
